assaulted man in Southampton

An investigation is underway in Southampton after a man claimed Sunday that he was assaulted by members of Justin Bieber's security team at a Hamptons nightclub, Southampton Town Police said.

The alleged incident, according to police, occurred on Aug. inside the South Pointe Night Club at 125 Tuckahoe Lane in Southampton. Aloka Ultrasonic Probe on Sunday, police received a call from hospital staff at Peconic Bay Medical Center to report a man may have been the victim of an assault. Patrol officers were sent to the hospital and interviewed the man, who suffered "minor" injuries, police said. The victim told police that he was injured after being assaulted at the nightclub earlier Sunday.

When he was released from the hospital, police said the man filed a formal complaint and provided a statement to detectives at Southampton Town Police headquarters in Hampton Bays. He told the detectives that he was physically assaulted by "subjects unknown to him," cops said.

The man told police that he believed his assailants were members of Justin Bieber's security staff, a news release said.

According to a TMZ report, the alleged incident started after a woman was turned away from speaking with Bieber. "A girl inside the club tried to speak to Justin but was denied," the website report.WED Ultrasound Probe "She came back with a guy the alleged victim who apparently had beef with the situation and at that point Justin went nuts, pulling off his shirt and screaming at the dude."

The New York Daily News also reported a similar story, saying "Bieber's friends and the star's security team were involved in a fight; one witness reported seeing blood."

Representatives for the pop star could not be reached Monday for comment, but a publicist told multiple media outlets "Justin was not involved in any altercation."

Southampton cops said an investigation into the incident is underway and they are asking anyone with information on the incident or anyone who witnessed the altercation to call detectives at 631 702 2230. All calls will be kept confidential.
